FORT WORTH CHAPTER
AMERICAN GUILD OF ORGANISTS
PURPOSE: To provide assistance for private study, preparation for Guild Certification
or other projects that will enhance performing skill for organists or pianists working in a
church in an organ position and to choral directors working in a church in a directing
position.
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS AND FUNDING RULES:
+ Applicant must be actively working in a church or synagogue as an organist,
pianist or choral director.
+ Applications from members of Fort Worth Chapter, American Guild of Organists,
will be given greater consideration. Applications will be considered from Tarrant
and contiguous counties.
+ Applicant may apply for funding for only one project per application. Requests
for funding to study privately and also attend a seminar would be considered two projects.
+ Grant recipients may apply one time within a three (3) year period.
+ Beginning date for the project must be after September 1, 2005.
+ Grant may be used for private study, special seminars in performance, pedagogy,
conducting, music theory, composition and so on.
+ The grant is not intended to be used to pursue course work toward a degree nor
for ongoing projects. Grant applications for assistance with commercial ventures
or projects that could be funded by an employer are not encouraged.
+ On completion of enrichment study, an evaluation form from the master teacher
and the grant recipient must be completed and returned to the Executive Committee
of the Fort Worth Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. This evaluation will
assist the Guild in implementing the program.

+ Applicant may apply for a grant up to the amount of $ 300.00. The funds shall be
spent in the calendar year of the application. A budget must be submitted with
the application indicating anticipated use of the funds. The grant will be for
the period of not more than one year and may be approved for one additional
year at the discretion of the Executive Committee of the Fort Worth Chapter of the
American Guild of Organists, providing funding is available. Individuals
seeking a grant renewal must submit another application to the committee for consideration. This request for renewal must be made within the three-year period
of the first application. This application must include a copy of the Organist-Choral
Director Enrichment Grant Evaluation Form that is returned to the Executive
Committee of the Fort Worth Chapter of the American Guild of Organists
following completion of the project for which the applicant is seeking renewal.
+ The number of grants awarded in any year will be determined by the number of
qualified applicants and the available funds. The awarding of a grant and the amount
of each grant shall be within the sole discretion of the Executive Committee of the
Fort Worth Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. All decisions of the Executive
Committee of the Fort Worth Chapter of the American Guild of Organists are final.
+ The grant award is paid directly to the master teacher or to the institution where
course work will be taken.
Note: Examples of application funding include private study with recognized teachers,
course work in preparation for AGO Guild Certification, workshops and master
classes/seminars for the enhancement of performing skills.
+ Upon awarding of the grant and the acceptance by the applicant, the recipient will be requested to furnish his/her Social Security number for tax purposes only.

1. Complete all sections of the form and provide all attachments as requested in the application.

2. Send the original and five (5) copies of all submitted materials to:

Application materials must be postmarked no later than Friday, July 1, 2005.
Applications postmarked after that date will be returned.
Incomplete applications will
not be processed.
3. Confirmation of receipt of application and attachments will be sent to applicant
via U. S. mail or e-mail.
4. Grant recipients will be announced at the first meeting of the Fort Worth Chapter
of the American Guild of Organists in September 2005.
